Stacking SoFi
How to max out their bonuses
July 3, 2025
SoFi (SOFI) sign up promotions are more lucrative than they look. You can aggregate various offers, making more money than indicated in any one place. Here’s how.
Start by opening the following tabs and logging in but don’t yet fund them. First stop is here. You will get $25 for depositing $50 in a new checking/savings account and up to another $300 for direct deposit.
Next go here to open a second tab. You will get $25 for depositing another $25 in a new brokerage account. Now click here for a third tab. You will get $10 for setting up credit monitoring.
Now in a fourth tab open and join Rakuten. You will get $30 for this. Instead of going through the open tabs, go to SoFi’s brokerage through Rakuten’s link and then do the same for SoFi’s checking/savings through Rakuten’s link. You will get $50 from Rakuten for the first and $375 (up from $125 where it will return shortly) for the second.
Caveat
If you don’t execute the order of operations precisely, you won’t max out sign up bonuses from both SoFi and Rakuten. Neither platform emphasizes that they are stackable but they are. These offers are probably as good as they’re going to get and might go back down (the Rakuten $375 number is the least permanent).
Conclusion
I find both direct deposit and shopping portals annoying. I wouldn’t have bothered until Rakuten temporarily tripled payouts for using their link to set up a new SoFi checking/savings.
TL; DR
Join both SoFi and Rakuten to get the most benefits from each.
